DJ receives a medal for some of the work he did during 2017. It was really because the people that worked for him were awesome, but leaders often get credit for what their people do. He was glad that they also got medals.

Dj is re-enlisting for another 4 years. He had to do this once he was selected for promotion, but he would have done it anyway. It is possible it was his last time, but probably not.

DJ accepts the Squadron's Team of the Quarter award for the 4th quarter of 2017. It was a really big deal as it broke the steak of a rival flight at 4 quarters in a row.

DJ accepts a Group level quarterly award for a member of his flight that was unable to be at the ceremony. He was super proud!

DJ is officially notified by his Commander that he has been selected for Senior Master Sergeant (SMSgt). This took place in front of DJ's office - a place where pictures are not often taken.

This is DJ's line number for SMSgt. It means he will be the 678th one promoted this year.

Our first winter in Virginia and we got a pretty significant blizzard. Kept us out of work for a day and a half or so. This area was completely clear of snow just like 12 hours before this.

DJ made this meme after his flight, OSK, dethroned OSO as the reigning team of the quarter. OSO had won it four quarters in a row, so this was a big deal.

Strangely, just about every single food truck claimed to use 100% organic ingredients in all their food. I doubt that was true. We settled for a couple slices of pizza and saved our appetite for Cheesecake Factory later that night.
