Each day at sea, you could go on deck and look out at the ocean and not see land in any direction. It was fascinating.

During our harbor trip, we saw an aircraft carrier under way in the distance. That is not super common, as usually they are docked - they don't come and go that often.

This is the Fort Monroe lighthouse. Fort Monroe used to be a military installation, but was recently privatized and now it is open to the public and people just live there like normal. It is very interesting.

Kelley is in the logistics business, so shipping ships are interesting to her. This one passed us by during our tour.

This was taken as we were about to come near the Norfolk shipyards. There were several aircraft carriers parked there, along with destroyers, submarines, and other vessels.

These guys go out when a big ship is coming in and guide it into port it is all computerized now, I guess, and mostly automated. Pretty cool.
